The new WS/T 641-2018 was issued in December of 2018. This is the Chinese equivalent of the CLSI C24 document - describing the recommended (or "Best") practices for quality control. A new edition of a QC regulation is not usually a big deal, but the Chinese standard has adopted a lot of Sigma-metrics, including the "Westgard Sigma Rules". So here we see China leaping ahead, adopting the most advanced QC techniques while the Western countries languish. Too many labs in the West are mired in antiquated habits, such 2 SD limits for rejection rules. Sad for us, but good to see another developing economy embrace modern tools.
