Upcoming Workshop: Method Evaluation at 38 (39)!

I'm delighted to be able to announce that I will again be able to take part in the Concepts and Practices in the Evaluation of Laboratory Methods at this year's upcoming AACC/ASCLS conference in Chicago on Sunday, July 27th.

Recall that AACC has divided the workshop (once an entire day) into a morning session and an afternoon session:

For Part 1, Dave Koch, PhD, (and incoming President of AACC) and Nils Persons, PhD will run the entire morning session. I will only be the moderator for this section (basically, I will tell you where the bathrooms are, to turn off your cell phones, and where online you need to go to get your credits)

For Part 2, Dave and Nils and I will all speak at the afternoon session. The afternoon sessions are longer and allow more speakers.

Since this got split up into two sessions, we try to make sure people understand that it's very important to register for both sessions if you want to get the "full" Methods Evaluation workshop experience.

This will be the 38th year the workshop has been held, continuing the longest run in the AACC conference's history. The challenges are as fresh today as they were nearly four decades ago, and if anything, it seems like verification and validation are becoming even more important for today's new methods, and also for POCs transitioning to moderate complexity, "off-label" POC use that changes the device rating to high complexity, and of course the wild west of LDTs.
